Revision woe

I used to think there was nothing worse than revision.
It turns out there is, doing revision and having a cold. Its fantastic!

Muck up day (revision leave day)

What a day! I woke up at 7:00 at got in to school at 8:00 feeling that i was quite early. On my arrival i discovered that the school has already been "decorated". Apparently people had been in school since 4:30 in the morning. I just wasn't prepared to make that kind of commitment. Notable acts: in the morning the bus park was converted into a airport with authentic over-zealous customs officials. Every time a new bus arrived someone would run round shouting and pretending to be a suicide bomber before being taken out. Very authentic. On the main school buildings giant banners with the face of the headmaster cunning photo shopped to look like a symbol were hung from windows in the style of banners hung to support communist leaders. There were propaganda posters around the school with clever captions such as : Mr Turner (headmaster) says make your women work, using a picture of a Princess Ann turning over the first sod of the sports hall with the headmaster in the background. Also a Russian guy in our year recorded a communist speech to add to the atmosphere. There was a very "clever magic trick" and a water park which consisted of a bouncy castle, 2 paddling pools and some slides. Much of the day was spent there and since everyone in the 6th form was armed with waster pistols its not hard to imagine what happened. A proposed fight that was going to take place on one of the school fields using inflatables and the like was cancelled unfortunelty due to exams. But all in all a great day and a brilliant way to leave school. Now sadly I've got to really start cramming for exams, which won't be as much fun. Lets hope i manage to get some work done!

More ramble fun...

Today was a unexpected gem, kind of. When i got told i was going to win 2 prizes at prizing giving i felt great. But today i find out the prestigious prize was going to win will go to someone else because I already have a prize, I'm understandably bitter.

On a less angry note watching a programme on old drivers yesterday on TV was definitely a laugh. Not because there were old people crashing but because the programme was blatantly aimed to make old drivers look bad. They concluded from seeing that 2 OAPs couldn't parallel park that all OAPs can't drive. They reinforced this message by showing clips of cars crashing with OAPs at the wheel. I can't parallel pack very well and there are lots more clips showing young drivers crashing then there are of young drivers. Meaning that the programme was really a bit of a waste of time. Finally the presenter, Jo Brand was telling us about how dangerous OAPs are on the road at the same time as driving and looking at the camera. It really makes you wonder sometimes quite how hypocritical somepeople are...

On yet another completely different note, school has decided that Friday will be called Revision leave day as opposed to Muck-up day. Apparently we are expected to attend all lessons and are to be excused for a BBQ at 12:00. But then in assembly the master then said that we shouldn't cause any damage to the school or offend anyone. If its a normal school day why would we. Someone in school can't make their mind up, and therefore these talks we keep getting on the subject are frivolous. Obviously no one will be going to lessons anyway since they've been cancelled by the teacher who takes them because no one will turn up anyway, so we're free to Muck around all morning. Should be a laugh so I can't wait.

Yes I was bored

Last week little did i know that today i would have started a blog. Having tried a journal once, then realising that i was too lazy to write in it was the end of my diary days. However since this is online, whenever i'm procrastinating i can do this; anything to get away from revision.
On the subject of revision and exams, first one is a fortnight today...., luckily its just a stats exam. Think Gcse stats and times it by a difficulty factor of 1 and you get Statistics 1. Its worth turning up because its worth as many marks as the hard Maths paper c4

School ends in 3 days!!! Worrying in some respects, but after today it doesn't seem so bad. No lessons till lunch, but i still had to be in school. State schools have the upperhand there, pupils there are allowed to go home during their frees. But at least private schools get the better education.......apparently. And i only pay a few thousand a term for the privilage.
Only 1 math lesson left and 3 biology and then I'm out of secondary school forever. Hurrah!
