Haven't been here for about a year.... weird...
Feels like the person writing the other stuff was a different person, guess I've grown up... at least a little!

Been too busy.....
August was a strange month. It started off with very little happening and ended with a few large events. Basically exam results and my Grans death and funeral. Even with this two major events the latter more so it seemed to me that i was watching from a distance rather than experiencing the events, which was a strange experience I got probably from working for too long with no clear goal and drifting through the summer holidays. But now in September its all go... kind of. Been thinking about Uni and what i need to buy and stuff, but because i don't go for 3 weeks i can't seem to make myself buy the stuff i need, mainly because its all boring stuff like duvet covers and plates. On Friday i went to the space dinner dance. As usual all the girls were dancing from the off in groups with no qualms, whereas most guys have an embarrassment gene when it comes to dancing. By the end of the evening the guys were tearing up the dance floor, we couldn't let embarrassment or Pussycat dolls ruin the evening! This week I've been trying to get a book from the library with an awful lot of difficulty. The book, Asimovs' "Foundation and Empire" for sci-fi fans info, was meant to be on the shelf according the magic library computer but had gone walkies so now I'm left waiting for a supposed branch copy to come in which is seemingly taking a painfully long time. This is completely ruining my literature experience. On a final note, everyone is leaving to go to uni and colleges and because i don't go for 3 weeks, i'm feeling depressed!

August
Well after the dullness of July, August promises to be a more exciting month. On saturday i'm off to see the jazz guitarist John Etheridge for an evening. The week after i'm off to london to see Prince at the millenium dome, then the highlight of the holidays...exam results. Then on the friday afterwards i'm going to the breacon beacons with my brother for 4 nights to do about 90-100miles of walking. Then only 2 more weeks of work presuming i get into uni! I'll spent September dossing about because i've been working all holidays so far. Then Uni!! hopefully

Random signage
This sign at first may seem perfectly sensible, until at closer inspection the words, "attack the fire if possible using the appliances provided". When i saw this i immediately thought, what if you're not in the kitchen, because most appliances like fridges and dishwashers tend to be found there. As the sign says appliances are provided i expected to see washing machines and fridges hung on the walls like fire extinguishes unfortunately none are to be found. Secondly what if you're not able to lift the appliance; I guess this is why the sign says to attack the fire if possible. Finally, what effect is lobbing a fridge onto the fire going to have, maybe cause it to explode which i suppose may lead to the combustion of any flammable items causing the fire to stop. If this is the thought behind it then i can't help but suggest that throwing oxygen tanks onto the fire or propane to achieve not only a more effective fire fighting technique, but a more spectacular one also.P.s as far as I'm concerned, fire extinguishes are not appliances, they are wall art.

Mishaps
Being Thursday today there was very little to do today at work, so much of the day was spent walking around looking for jobs to do. When I began to do the exciting job of refilling soap containers i learnt my first lesson of the day, don't overfill them or this happens.

It dripped for about 2 hourse afterwards which meant i had to keep coming back to it to wipe away the antibacterial soap. I also learned that if you are in the girls bathroom, do not stare at a tampon machine and press the buttons on it and not expect to get strange looks from girls passing by. In my defense when i did see it i intially thought it may be a hand drier, turns out i was wrong-very wrong and am quite happy that the current batch of american students at the college leave tomorrow.
Another easy day tomorrow so lets hope i can find something to do

Harry Potter
Also sorry the new Harry potter film today, i guess it was better than the others maybe because this one tries to have a feasible story. If you haven't read the book then you won't understand whats going on, if you have like the rest of Britain you may begin to wonder that you could've done something better with your time. Mainly because the final line of the film is guaranteed to either make you cringe, or cry. Please choose the former or i may disown you.
Yet another dull day, but the weather was nice
Commuting to work on the bus is usually a pleasant experience if you've got a good book to read for the journey. Unfortunately in the past few weeks large numbers of foreign students have starting catching the bus to oxford in huge numbers. This may not be so annoying if they queued like the rest of us but they always skip to the front screaming at their friends. Hence whenever the bus stops with its doors at the back of the queue there is always a silent cheer and smug faces from the otherwise grim English. Thankyou for taking the time to read this xenophobic rant.
On non related news work today was a standard Wednesday, lots of climbing up staircases and taking linen bags back down with you. At the end of the day i felt i climbed up and down those staircases enough that i had climbed the equivalent of wittingham clumps, so we're talking extreme heights here. Of course the great height did mean there was a good opportunity to banister sled which livened up the day. The other positive thing about today, was that the weather was nice, HURRAY.
